Week 3 ScuzzleFucked

Updated: Nov 29, 2020

Hey happy Sunday everyone. I hope you are all doing fantastic.

So far I've reached week 3. 21 days in its been going great. Except something big has happened I am now all alone, abandoned by the one who convinced me to give veganism a try. My GF Tiffany is no longer vegan.... I've been ScuzzleFucked.

All jokes aside the reason she is no longer vegan have to do with an issue she is having with her gut biome and so she needs to straighten things out. This means she needed to change up her diet which included the addition of meat. So now while she'll be eating turkey on Thanksgiving and I'll be sticking with my mashed potatoes.

Anyways so far I've still been feeling great in terms of energy. I have also decided that for each week that I am on my diet I am going to try and make a few healthier changes to help improve the overall effectiveness.

So this week I removed all forms of sauces from my cooking. No bbq sauce, sesame, or anything else. I found that most of them are essentially just a lot of sugar and in addition, I find that I just have been using to much in general. Instead, I have switched over to just straight spices. This week I got 3 new spices that I have been using in my cooking.

I got Tumeric, Cumin, and Cayenne Pepper. Why those 3? After a couple of google searches on best spices, these 3 seemed to be coming up the most... so there we go.

One thing that I will for sure say is that adding a lot of spice can make things very dry, like painfully dry. First time I cooked with these bad boys wow it was dry and spicy. In light of this, I've tried a couple of new things to help balance things out. I have been leaving the rice more and more liquidity in order to help keep things moist. Second, I add a little bit of hummus as well and that has been helping a lot too.

The second tweak that I have made is that I have simply reduced the amount of bread that I eat, instead now of having 2 peanut butter and jam sandwiches for lunch I just have a 3 slice triple-decker. I've found that my heavy carb'd lunch gives me a bit of a sugar rush which leads to a crash in the middle of the day. so now I am now trying to mitigate this as best as I can.

For my next week of eating I am going to be dropping my protein bars. In addition, I will be dropping my store-bought hummus. Why? Vegetable oils. Both of these contain vegetable oils. I won't get into it, although I might write an entire article on it later. Vegetable oils are horrible for your health. I've been listening to a ton of audible books recently about health and nutrition and no matter what the book is (legit from a book entirely about eating meat and one about being vegan) they all seem to agree with each other that vegetable oils are bad. Additionally, everything that I have found on the internet seems to agree on these guys being bad as well.

Lastly, I will outline what I have been eating this past week!

Breakfast; Coconut Yogurt, Granola, Whole Banana, Frozen Fruit.

Lunch; Baby Carrots, Hummus, Almonds, Peanuts, 2 Peanut Butter and Sandwiches, Apple and Banana, 2 protein bars.

Dinner: Basmati Rice, Frozen Veggies; Cauliflower, Broccoli and Carrots, Onions, Avocado, Greens Mix, Garlic.

As always thank you all so much! And hmu if you have any questions or would like to chat.
